Child Care Resource & Referral Quality Rating System Support Specialist
The purpose of this project is to develop a new CCR&R staff position, Cerro Gordo, Hancock Worth Quality Rating System Support Specialist - 1 FTE. This position is not intended to replicate the Regional Quality Rating System Specialist role. This position will be dedicated to assisting the CHW early childhood and child care community with meeting the criteria of program standards linked to the Iowa Quality Rating System(QRS). The focus of this new CCR&R staff position will be to increase access to information, technical assistance and consultation for program quality improvements linked to the QRS. Services will be provided, as resources allow, at the request of those programs indicating an interest in participating in the QRS. Services will be provided throughout the grant year noted in this proposal. These services will be coordinated with current CCR&R regulatory technical assistance efforts underway. The purpose of these services is to ensure quality services that make child care and early education programs successful for all children and their families and to work with community partnerships to promote nurturing environments for children.
The CHW Quality Rating System Support Specialist will be responsible for resource coordination and support to early education and child care providers, interested in participating in the voluntary Iowa Quality Rating System (QRS). The employee in this new position will be responsible for assisting early education and child care providers in developing and implementing program quality improvement plans. These technical assistance and consultation services will be provided at the request of the participant. Provider program quality improvement plans will focus on criteria linked to the QRS.
