ABCD Creative Drama
ABCD Creative Drama-($17,483)
will provide creative drama techniques to preschool children in
the preschool environment. Creative Drama involves story-telling,
role-playing, dramatic games, improvisation, songs, and dance in
an informal setting. Creative Drama builds a bridge between play
and learning. This program is provided by Steben's Children Theater.
ABCD Creative Drama ProjectStebens Children's Theatre is offering creative drama classes in
area preschools during 2008-09. Washington Early Childhood Center,
Madison Early Childhood Center, Tugs Preschool, Sugar Plum Preschool,
Mason City Schools 4 year-old Preschool, Project Childcare, 15th
St. Head Start and Garner Head Start have been chosen to participate
in the program. Spending 8-16 weeks in each school, Sally Pressly,
creative drama specialist from Stebens Children's Theatre, meets
with each classroom once a week. The goal of the program is to reinforce
kindergarten readiness skills through the use of creative drama
activities. Using movement, pantomime, sensory awareness and story
drama, Sally guides students through fun-filled activities that
reinforce what they are learning in preschool. If you are interested in more information about the ABCD Project,
